Our History

How The Parks Community Network Began

Prior to 1994 Fairfield Community Resource Centre (FCRC) was funded to run a number of projects in the Parks area. In 1993, discussions started to establish an autonomous organisation in the parks area to provide services to this large area within Fairfield.

People involved from the parks area wanted to expand and develop the services for the area and felt they could achieve more as an independent organization. They also wanted to establish a locally based management committee, therefore making more local connections with the people of the parks area.

The Parks Community Network Inc was incorporated in 1993, and became financially independent in 1994.
