People with disabilities and Carers

Fairfield City Vision Impaired Person Social Support Group.

The Fairfield City VIP Social Support Group aims to reduce the isolation that may be experienced by people with a visual impairment. Participants can support each other and learn from each other's experiences. The program enables participants to access places of interest to them which they would not otherwise access due their disability. The group meets monthly at Greenfield Park Community Centre. There are regular excursions which all participants are welcome to attend. For further information contact Parks.

Parks Carers Support Group

The Parks Carers support group aims to support the carer of a person with a disability. The program aims to:

  • Promote and support the Carers independence.
  • Give carers an opportunity to network with other carers.
  • Reduce the carer's stress levels.
  • promote the involvement of carers in the community.
  • Support the carers in their caring role.
  • Give relevant information to carers to complement their role.
The group meets twice per month. For further information contact Parks.
