The Fairfield No Interest Loan Scheme NILS® is a program auspice by The Parks Community Network Inc. since 2003. The aim of the program is to provide people on a low income, those with a Health Care or Pensioner Concession card, flexible and affordable credit, a no interest loan in order to purchase essential household goods.

For multiple items, health related expenses and mobility aids. The NILS® is a practical and cost effective mechanism for alleviating poverty. The scheme has enormous capacity to meet multiple social objectives through provision of other related services such as budgeting advice and referral to other appropriate services.

• Increases their self esteem, and confidence
• Helping them to manage their finances and improves their consumer knowledge and skills

The client’s involvement with NILS® develops their sense of belonging to, and being supported by, the community. This scheme is proactive, uses scarce financial resources efficiently and results in significant improvement to the lives of residents who access it.
