Our workers Angela and Shweta attended the Fairfield Council’s International Women’s Day event at the Whitlam Library in Cabramatta.
There were three speakers: Lakshmi Gowda (director of LAKSHMI BEE PTY LTD), Joshua Badu (founder of Joshua Badu Coaching), and a speaker from Robogals (an organisation run by volunteers from universities and young professionals). Each speaker gave an empowering speech to the audience.
Lakshmi Gowda runs a successful nature-friendly clothing line Lakshmi Bee with her mother. They started this business from scratch and thus inspired everyone present to believe in themselves, focus on their present opportunities, and create a lifestyle which is sustainable not only for an individual but for the whole community and nature.
Joshua Badu talked about the importance of equity in society and admiring yourself from time to time.
The speaker from Robogals discussed a project in which they teach girls how to make kids-friendly robots.
